Local races are set for April 7 election

City of Owen incumbents Jason Thornton (Ward 1) and Bob Wilczek (Ward 2) have filed their papers for re-election. Ray Kilty (Ward 3) incumbent did not turn in his papers by the deadline and will run as a registered write-in.
In the Village of Withee, incumbents Susan Kalepp, Bill Kroeplin, and Randy Shelton have all filed papers for re-election, with no challengers.
For Owen-Withee School Board, incumbent Dean Schmelzer has filed papers and Joan Jalling has filed non-candidacy papers. Newcomer Ellen Peterson has also filed papers to run for school board.
At the county level, all Supervisors are up for election on April 7, 2026. Four supervisors have filed notice of non-candidacy. They are Raymond Mulderink, District 2; Luke Smith, District 14; Chuck Rueth, District 17; and William Neville, District 28. David Martin will run for the District 2 seat; Jerome Krempasky will run for the District 14 seat; Tony Horvath will run for the District 17 seat; and Scott Pralle will run for the District 28 seat. In addition, Carl Kallberg will challenge incumbent Tom Wilcox in District 4. Sharon Rogers will challenge incumbent Tom Bobrofsky in District 19. In District 27, Saville Inman will challenge incumbent Fritz Garbisch. In all other districts, only the incumbent has declared their candidacy, including Larry Klabon in District 5, representing the village of Withee, and Scott Jalling in District 11, representing the city of Owen.
