My name is Kasey Booth, and I’m thrilled to be the new English Language Arts teacher for both the middle and high school.
A little about me: I lived in Withee until I was four, before my family relocated to Black River Falls, where I graduated from high school. I went on to attend UW-Stevens Point, earning a degree in Natural Sciences with a minor in Biology.
After college, I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where I spent the last five years teaching Biology, Intro to Health Science, Medical Terminology, and College Prep. Teaching quickly became a passion of mine, and I loved the challenge and reward of connecting with students and helping them grow.
This summer, I married my wonderful husband, Austin, and we decided to move back to Wisconsin to be closer to my family. When I saw the opening for an English position here, it felt like the perfect fit. English has always been one of my favorite subjects. I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember, I took advanced English courses in college, and I’ve always appreciated the power of language and storytelling. I took the Praxis exam and earned my certification to teach English, and I’m truly excited for this new chapter.
I’m looking forward to learning and growing alongside my students this year. It’s incredibly important to me that every student feels welcomed, valued, and supported in my classroom. I can’t wait to become part of the Blackhawk community.
