The Miller Dam Lake Association will hold the 24th Annual Ice Fishing Contest and Jamboree on Saturday, January 31 from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Chequamegon Waters Flowage.
The Saturday ice fishing contest will include both adult and child ice fishing, spread across six categories. Adult first place winners will have their names go in a drawing for $250, while children’s ice fishing contest winners will likewise be entered in a drawing for $250. Per DNR rules, a separate ticket is needed to register fish in the fishing contest, though anyone can fish. A $1 ticket is available for purchase at 6 a.m. the day of the contest, with fish registration at 2:45 p.m. in the shelter. The family fun day sponsored by local and area businesses will include refreshments, walk around raffles, door prizes, a heated shelter, great food, free ice fishing rods and reels to the first 100 children, starting at 9 a.m.
Included as well in the day’s events at Chequamegon Waters Flowage is a raffle drawing with first prize of $2,500 cash, second place of $1,500, and third place of $1,000, with several other prizes as well.
