The Abbotsford City Council had to call an audible after Dan Borchardt of MSA notified the council it did not receive the Local Road Improvement Program funding it had applied for from the state. The funding would have provided the city with up to 50% funding for the (Fifth) street project. Instead Public Works Director Craig Stuttgen told the council Elm Street would be a cheaper, but needed alternative.

Employees from ABE Construction poured concrete for the walkway into the Veteran’s Remembrance Park. Concrete for handicap parking was also poured in anticipation for the dedication slated for June 29.

The Stanley Common Council is firmly behind the D.R. Moon Memorial Library—and the mayor is on record about it. Approved in the consent agenda items Monday, May 6, the letter by Mayor Mike Henke addressed to “fellow D.R. Moon supporters,” declares support for the library expansion and historic restoration project. “The city of Stanley council is supportive of the D.R. Moon Memorial Library’s efforts to improve access and library resources through the proposed expansion and historic restoration project,” the letter states.
