The Owen-Withee Area Chamber of Commerce will be electing new board members at their annual meeting on January 26. Nancy Amacher does not plan to run again, Linda Susa is leaving the board as she has retired from Prevail Bank, and Michelle Hurst, who left the board over the summer still needs to be replaced. The Chamber is asking any business person who is a member or willing to become a member and might be interested in serving on the board to let Chamber president Carey Hargot know they are interested. In addition, area businesses who are not currently Chamber members can attend the annual meeting by joining the organization.
The Chamber currently has two projects in the works. They are again sponsoring a Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre along with the Owen Downtown Revitalization Committee. The event will be held February 6 and 7, allowing everyone two opportunities to attend this fun event. Tickets are available at RedDaisyGirl, O-W Sports, the Woodland Tap Room, and Owen City Hall. This year’s theme is “Who Killed the Lumberjack”?
The Chamber Board is also working toward getting a new website up and running. The old website is still in existence, but no one seems to know who is paying for the domain name and it hasn’t been updated in years, so a new website is in the works. Chamber members will be able to have a link to their website or Facebook page and contact information on the new website to start. Chamber members will be asked what contact information they want on the website. More information will be added later as time allows.
