The Owen-Withee School District Strategic Planning Committee met on Monday, September 8 to continue the process.
After discussing a number of possible priorities, the following priorities were set at the meeting:
• Student Academic Growth and Success for all students through quality instruction
Investing in curriculum and teacher training guided by data-driven instruction and authentic learning opportunities that meet the needs of diverse learners.
•Operation excellence and financial responsibility
Financial responsibility is maintained via transparent budgeting and cost-effective solutions that prioritize student outcomes while ensuring sustainability while providing the best environment and supports for students, staff, and community
• Student, family, and community partnerships through effective communication
The school district of Owen-Withee will work to create essential communication that meets the needs of all stakeholders. We will continually develop strategies to build a culture of trust and promote reciprocal communication.
• Student and staff well-being and safety
This item still needs to be defined.
In addition, there was discussion of adding three words that would help define the district. The two that were decided on were Collaborate and Elevate. The group is still looking for a third word that would define what the district hopes to do in coming years.
