Saturday, September 14, the Owen-Withee High School and Middle School Cross-Country teams packed their spikes and headed to Colby for a highly anticipated meet. The day was filled with impressive performances across the board, with signs that the hard work the Hawks have been doing was finally paying off. Colton Paczkowski set a career PR with a time of 17:16, while Adelynn Petersen, Anne Davis, and Evelyn Goessl also showed significant improvements.

Colton's efforts earned him a 2nd place finish, and Evelyn claimed 1st. Just a few days later, on Tuesday, the team faced their next challenge at Neillsville. Despite still feeling the effects of Saturday’s meet, the Hawks arrived determined to compete. Neillsville's course, known for its tough elevation changes, posed a significant test, but the team rose to the occasion. Colton Paczkowski secured 3rd place, and Evelyn Goessl continued her winning streak with another 1st place finish. The team is working relentlessly to shave more seconds off their times as the season progresses.
