The Owen-Withee Theatre Department has hit the competition season. On Monday, October 14, they traveled to Regis High School in Eau Claire to perform at the district competition with their One-Act piece, “Fatality” by Todd Ford.
“Fatality” is a one-act drama including themes of drug and alcohol abuse, social issues, and death. This play is left up for interpretation by the director. That is what makes it a hard play to perform. Although this was a challenge for them, the actors and crew were ready to take the stage.
They performed at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. After the performance they got to hear critique and eventually their score. They needed a 1.5 to make it past District to Sectionals. They successfully performed and scored around a 2.4. The critique went well, and they are excited to make some changes to score even better at the Sectional competition. Congratulations to the play crew and good luck at Sectionals.
