Representative Karen Hurd (R-Withee) took the oath of office January 6, marking the start of her second term in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Due to legislative redistricting, Rep. Hurd was elected to serve the newly drawn 69th Assembly District for the 2025-2026 Legislative Session.
“I am humbled by the trust the citizens of the 69th District have placed in me to serve as their voice in the State Assembly,” said Rep. Hurd. “I am honored to work on behalf of them over the next two years.”
As announced last month, Rep. Hurd will serve on the legislature’s powerful Joint Finance Committee (JFC) this session. This committee is charged with crafting the biennial state budget and is the principal legislative body charged with the review of all state appropriations and revenues.
“I am excited for the incredible opportunity to serve on the Joint Finance Committee and have a hand in developing our state’s fiscal policies, including the state budget,” said Rep. Hurd. “I look forward to providing a rural perspective to the committee’s discussions and working with my colleagues to craft a budget proposal that funds our state’s priorities, spends tax dollars wisely, and provides tax relief for Wisconsin families.”
