State bound O-W One Act Play returns with four prestigious awards

The tradition lives on, the Owen-Withee One Act play had an outstanding performance at state last week at UW-Milwaukee. The group’s performance of Fatality written by Todd Ford earned them several prestigious awards. The awards covered them all, Julie Van Ark received Outstanding Director, Sam Wells received Outstanding Actor, the Stage Crew of Sam Stephens, Isabella Lewellen, Angela Baures and Elizabeth Cruz received Outstanding Tech Award; the whole cast including Maribel Cruz, Mason Gay, Steven Negron Gonzalez, Cassidy Graski, Dan Graski, Aschton Paczkowski, Sully Poehler, Violet Poehler, Bobby Turner, Lydia Van Ark and Mady Vetterkind  received the highest honor at state, the Critics Choice.

Director Julie Van Ark was overwhelmed by the performance and grateful for the support received. “Thank you to the Lions Club for donating $300 for the trip. We used it to buy food and drinks for the kids,” she said.  “We are very proud of carrying on the tradition of an excellent theater program. It is not common that a small school like ours has such success year after year. That speaks volumes of Jeffer Scheuer and Debra Smith. I have been very fortunate to have learned from them, both as a student and a colleague.”

Congratulations to these talented students and directors!
