The O-W Area Chamber holds another successful Business Expo

Posted

On Saturday, April 11, the Owen-Withee Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual Business Expo at the Old School with approximately 30 vendors and over 330 visitors.
A breakfast was prepared by Troy and Jenn’s Hacienda for anyone looking for a taste delight before visiting the booths. Chamber President Carey Hargot did the announcements. There were prizes handed out and free items galore.
Dillon Brost and Paige Lindner came from Clark County Health Department to do a presentation on food and water safety.
The Owen-Withee Area Historical Society presented their Golden Blackhawk Award to Noel Barteck in honor of his service to the O-W community. Noel taught in the O-W school system, served on O-W-C Fire & EMS, leads the Weekend O-W Kid’s Meals program, and still does CPR classes for students at the O-W School. Noel gave glory to God and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing him to be able to accept the award. He said that one person can’t do it alone, it takes a loyal group to achieve the mission. He spoke of his football coach, who said a team is like a chain and only as strong as it’s weakest link. Noel said he was that weakest link. Rather than try to remember everybody he should thank, he decided to thank them by groups beginning with his biological family. He also thanked his church family, his fire department family, his W-O-W family, his card playing family, his school family, his community family and his Hunter Safety instructor family.
The Business Expo ran from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a slight change in time this year. Next year the Expo should move back to its regular date of the first Saturday in April.
