Dear Owen-Withee Community:
Allow me to share with you two reasons for my support of the School Referendum, which will be on the ballot on November 5. I plan to vote “yes” because:
(1) As I drive around the community, I see signs for both presidential candidates. In fact, in my own neighborhood I have a sign for Harris and down the street my neighbor has a sign for Trump. However, we both have signs that encourage a “Yes” vote for the school referendum. That tells me this referendum is supported by people of various political views. It also tells me this referendum is not a partisan issue. Rather the community is getting behind the students and supporting their education.
(2) It’s a matter of trust. Whom does one trust? As citizens we have a say in what happens, but ultimately decisions are made by a board or council whom we elect. I trust the members of the Owen-Withee School Board who have made some difficult decisions in the past years. Have I ever disagreed? Sometimes. Overall, I believe they make decisions based on the information at hand and in the best interests of the students.
Please vote “Yes” on the school referendum on November 5. Thank you!
