The Blackhawks got a Conference road win on Friday by traveling to Greenwood and finishing with a convincing 83-33 victory, which put the Blackhawks overall record to 3-1.
Mason Gay started the scoring with a strong move to get the lead followed by a Sam Wells jumper. Winston Poehler and Gay then converted on a perfect pick and roll, which was followed later by a Dominic Sherwood three to push the lead to 14-3. Poehler then hit a three with Gay hitting back-to-back threes two minutes later grabbing a 29-11 advantage. The Blackhawks' defense continued to create turnovers and attack the rim as Sherwood scored on a pinpoint pass from Colin Fritz. The Blackhawks led 43-16 at the half.
The second half started with more of the same as Sherwood got a steal, hit Fritz up the court and he fed Wells for a quick fastbreak basket. Gay would hit from distance again early in the half along with a nice post-to-post feed from Brett Baehr inside to Jack Wendler, who made his return to the Blackhawks. Baehr would later take a hard drive to the hoop to score his own basket and on the next possession Poehler found Fritz inside for a bucket. Colton Paczkowski, Talon Mueller and Carter Lindgren all managed to score in the half also with some clean offensive execution to finish the game with a final of 83-33.
The Blackhawks shot 53% from two-point range and made 7 of 17 (41%) from behind the three-point arc. They also ended with 23 assists and 27 steals.

Coach's Comments
We did a nice job staying consistent on the offensive end as we are starting to hit some of our outside shots with 7 threes for the game. We had a nice combination of inside/outside scoring from many of our players along with some nice fastbreaks. We consistently rebounded the ball well tonight also.
