Blackhawks outman Cornell in lopsided win

The experience of the Owen-Withee Blackhawk’s seven Seniors and a sprinkling of underclassmen was too much for Cornell Friday night, as the Blackhawks rolled to a 78-0 win over a team that their best football will be ahead of them.

The Blackhawk’s varsity hung 45 points on the Chieftans in the first quarter as the offense took advantage of some great field position and some excellent blocking up front to score six times and impose a running clock. From there, the junior varsity took over and put up 33 points of their own gaining some very good varsity experience.

For the second week in a row, the Blackhawk defense pitched a shutout in limiting Cornell to only one first down in the contest creating four turnovers and a score of it’s own!

This week the Hawks will be hosting the McDonnell Macks and if you put any credence in the polls, the number one ranked team in the state in 8-man football. It will be a great game, so come out and be a part of the Friday night lights experience. Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m.
