The Owen-Withee Boys Basketball summer league team is working hard in the summer and made a trip to Wisconsin Dells last week to take part in a three day tournament. After two days of bracketed play, the Blackhawks finished with a 2-2 record, which earned them a #6 seed in the top half of the Championship bracket.

On Wednesday, they took on the #3 seed PEM (Plainview-Elgin-Millville) team from Minnesota and won by a final of 44-37 to advance to the semifinals. Next they battled against the #2 seed Piertz Pioneers from northern Minnesota, in a game that came down to the last possession in a tied game, with Mason Gay getting a steal and hitting free throws with three seconds remaining, plus one more with one second remaining for the 39-36 come from behind win. The win advanced the Blackhawks into the Championship versus the #1 seed Foley Falcons, whom they lost to by nine points on the first day. The Blackhawks trailed for most of the game, but in the end with under 20 seconds, Dominic Sherwood hit from three to break the tie, capping off another comeback as the Hawks trailed by 11 at one point. The 38-35 victory gave the Blackhawks the Championship of the Dells Classic Tournament.
