On February 2, the Hawks hosted the Thorp Cardinals and lost a close one 39-37. The Blackhawks had a nice first half, having only two turnovers against the Cardinals. The Hawks played some man defense and trapped coming up with six steals to help lead 25-18 at the half. Colton Paczkowski, 8 points and Preston Fritz, 6 points, led the Hawks.
The second half the Hawks struggled offensively knocking down some good looks. Our rebounding stayed strong with seven players grabbing boards. With the game tied at 37 and a minute to play, the Cardinals hit some free throws to edge out the Blackhawks.
