The Curtiss Corners Quilt Club met on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 6:45 p.m. in Curtiss Community Center.

The group conducted roll call by identifying reasons to join a quilt club.  Some reasons were: To be with people who like the same things but are not crazy; people sharing their knowledge; it just makes sense; I like when we work on projects and teach each other; so you don’t quilt...no problem...there’s a place for all; don’t be afraid to join because we all have something to learn; impressed with skills; new exploration; camaraderie; like sharing techniques during open sew days; sharing new ideas; very proud of the club’s community service work; new techniques; improve skills; meet new people and get out of the house.

Quilt member Donna Reamer demonstrated a pillowcase project. Each pillowcase includes a cinch strap so it can

be used to carry belongings. The group will sew pillowcases and donate to Clark County Foster Care Program.

Next Sew Day is Saturday, October 26 from 9am to 3pm at Curtiss Community Center. Text or call (262)497-4780 if interested or need more details. All quilters are welcome.

Monthly Tip: Don’t come unwound. To keep thread from unwinding, slip a clean rubber band around the spool which still allows you to pull out a strand of thread easily, whenever you need one.
