A Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Per his wishes, no formal funeral services will be held.

Dallas was born November 8, 1936, in Hannibal, the son of John Arvid and Arvilla (Paddock) Granquist. He was educated in the Hannibal Elementary School and graduated from Gilman High School. Dallas was united in marriage to Audrey (Laakso) on May 17, 1958. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2004.

Dallas spent most of his life as a Cheesemaker, starting out at Drangle’s in Gilman; he then moved to Fremont, WI, and then to Stewart Cheese Corp. in Greenwood. Later, he was a Fieldman for AMPI; worked at Teledyne in Owen; and drove school bus for the O-W Schools. He was a volunteer fireman for the Owen Fire Department. He also was in the Wisconsin Army National Guard and a member of the O-W Vets Club.

Dallas enjoyed spending time with his family; he played baseball in high school, and later played fastpitch and slow-pitch softball for many years, coaching Gehrke’s Grizzlies in Owen. He cheered on his daughters as they played slow-pitch softball for many years in the Owen area. He was well-known for his sense of humor, love of country music, polka dancing, and delicious brats, which were enjoyed by his many friends and family over the years.

Dallas will be deeply missed by his family, including Kim (Garth) James of Belgrade, Montana; Debra (Kurt) Smith of Withee; Julie Granquist of Hurst, Texas; Kevin (Tammie Mess) Granquist of Marshfield; and Darla (Ryan) Hahn of Wisconsin Rapids. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Amanda, Heather, and Clint Marcott, and Brooke James; Keith, Brittany, and Aidan Smith; Jordan, Brady and Lydia Granquist; and Benjamin, Jakob and Sydney Gotz; in addition to 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Audrey; sisters Selma, Florence, and Marcella; and brothers, Raymond and Hugh.

And Dad, for one last time, “hope your Packers win.”
