Golf Fun League

Week 14

The sky was cloudy with periodic thunder and some lightning. A light rain was falling as 11 stalwart golfers showed up at Meadowview Golf Course for the weekly Tuesday Golf Fun League. The course was wet but in excellent condition with fairways still playing fast and greens holding the shots. The weather improved with the rain subsiding as the golfers headed to their first hole. Three teams were formed with assigned captains being Buck Michlig, Louis Young and John Goodale. The remaining team members were selected through a card draw. This week’s game format was the standard Scramble. In this format all players hit their shot with the best shot being chosen. The competition was extremely close as the teams finished up with rounds of 35, 34, and 32. All team scores were under par. The winning team scoring 32 included John Goodale, Rick Raatz, LeRoy Wellman and Dennis Kieser. John Boss’s shot on hole #2 was closest to the pin while Buck Michlig made the longest putt on hole #9. The Fun League is a weekly event held at Meadowview Golf Course during the spring, summer, and fall. Each week, a different version of the Scramble format is played, ensuring that everyone gets a fresh and exciting experience. To participate, arrive early by 9:30 a.m. to sign up and be assigned to a team. Tee-off is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Join us for a relaxed round of golf that promises to be both enjoyable and rewarding.
