The day was sunny, with a slight breeze and temperatures in the mid to upper 70’s. The course was drier and driving distances increased to provide for better scoring. Sixteen resolute golfers showed up, paid their $2 fee and were excited to take on fellow competitors. Team captains Mary Meyer, Carol Raatz, Sandra Larson and Sandra Hanson were chosen and by drawing cards, 4 evenly matched teams were formed. This week, individual scores were counted and compared to each members golfing average using the Stableford scoring system. The winning team shot 18 points over their average with all other teams also scoring well. The winning team consisted of captain Mary Meyer and teammates Jerry Hester, Dennis Wilson and Rick Raatz. Closest to the pin awards on holes 2 and 6 went to John Boss and LeRoy Wellman. Sandra Hanson won the longest putt contest on the 9th hole. The Fun League is held every Tuesday during the summer.
