Last week the Week 16 Fun League (aquatic version) had golfers needing waders and life vests. Humidity was extreme, water was abundant, golfers were few and sanity was “none”. Three hearty golfer types played an intense game of scramble. Game was won and lost and awards were claimed by the same three intrepid (crazy) golfers. Feet were soaked, vanity was stroked and beverages were finished.
This week the skies were cloudless, wind calm and temperatures were in the upper 60s and low 70s when 15 excited golfers showed up and paid their $2 fee to compete for the coveted 1st place prize money. Team captains were assigned and by drawing cards, five matched teams were formed. The best ball format was selected where the best shot is used as the teams play each hole. Two teams tied with 2 under par 34 but the first place team recorded birdies on the two hardest holes, 7 and 9. The winning team consisted of captain Kert Boie, John Boss and Betty Rhyner. Closest to the pin award on hole 2 went to Lyndsey Tyznik with John Boss and Lyndsey Tyznik making the longest putts on holes 4 and 9. The Fun League is held every Tuesday during the summer. If interested, show up before or by 9:45 for check in.
