Golf Fun League Week 21

Posted

The first Tuesday in October started out with temperatures in the low 50s, skies clear and cloudless and the air feeling breezy. Fourteen golfers showed up, not in shorts and tee shirts but with long slacks and sweatshirts. After fees were paid, four teams were formed with captains Kert Boie, Scott Strzok, Jerry Hester and LeRoy Wellman. The best ball format was selected where the best shot is used as the teams play each hole. Competition was again exceedingly competitive with team scores being 32, 34, 34 and 37. The first place team shooting 32 consisted of Kert Boie, Wade Hatlestad, Carol Raatz and Dennis Kieser. They scored birdies on 4 holes, three difficult birdie putts made by a skillful Carol Raatz. Longest putt awards on holes 4 and 9 went to Ev Rhyner and Carol Raatz. The Fun League is held every Tuesday until weather and golf course conditions restrict play. If interested, show up before or by 9:45 for check in.
