With opportunities for golfing diminishing into the fall, seven staunch golfers showed up at the Meadowview Golf Course on a partly cloudy nice day. Temperatures were in the 60s, the course was dry but golfing conditions were excellent with greens cleared of leaves and fairways allowing for drives to provide for the ball to roll. After fees were paid, two teams were formed with captains Dale Raatz and Jerry Hester leading the way. The drawing of cards formed the two teams. The best ball format was selected where the best shot is used as the teams play each hole. Team 1 ended up barely winning the match but needed a 2 under, 34 to beat Team 2 who shot a 35. Winning team members were Dale Raatz, Dennis Kieser and Rick Raatz. Longest putt awards on holes 4 and 9 went to Richard Wachsmuth, with Dale Raatz ending up getting his shot closest to the pin on Hole 2. Richard and Dale were awarded golf balls for their efforts. The Fun League is held every Tuesday until weather and golf course conditions restrict play. If interested, show up before or by 10:45 for check-in as teams will tee off by 11:00 a.m.
