The early morning was pleasant, around 70, and the day improved as 13 eager golfers showed up for the weekly Fun League at Meadowview Golf Course. The air showed little haziness from smoke compared to previous days. Three captains were selected to head up the respective teams. Remaining team members were selected by drawing cards to compete using the Scramble format. Maintenance crews at the golf course had the course in great condition. This week all three teams finished and reported to the clubhouse with 2 under par scores of 34, 34, and 34 with 36 being par. The winning team parred the #1 handicap hole to walk away with the first place prize winnings. The winning team, shooting 2 under par 34 consisted of captain Scott Strzok teaming up with Dennis Wilson, Tom Myhre, and Sandra Hanson. Hole prizes were won by John Boss, longest putt on hole #9 and Mary Meyer being closest to the pin off the tee on hole #2. The Fun League is held each Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course throughout the summer. Show up early, no later than 9:30 a.m. for registration and team selection with tee-off scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Come and enjoy a low stress round of golf.
