There was mist in the air at the start of the day but gradually the sky turned partly cloudy and warm as 14 golfers showed up for the weekly Fun League at Meadowview Golf Course. Four teams were formed, two with 4 members and two with 3. This week’s game format again was a scramble with the best drive being used on the odd holes and worst drive used on the even holes. This produced extra challenges. Four captains, Scott Strzok, Kert Boie, Jerry Hester and LeRoy Wellman were selected to head up their respective teams. Remaining team members were selected by drawing cards. The course, as displayed all summer, was in great condition. This week’s scoring was again very close with teams reporting in with 34, 34, 35 and 40 with 36 being par. The winning team, shooting 2 under par 34 consisted of captain Jerry Hester teaming up with Jack Wendler, Colin Fritz and Bob Arimura. Hole prizes were won by John Boss, longest putt on hole #9 and Colin Fritz being closest to the pin off the tee on hole #2. The Fun League is held each Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course throughout the summer. Show up early, no later than 9:30 a.m. for registration and team selection with tee-off scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Come and enjoy a low stress round of golf.
