The day was warm and humid as 15 early-bird golfers reported to the Meadowview Golf Course for the weekly Tuesday Golf Fun League. Another new member showed up and had a great time competing with his team. The course was in excellent condition but with the early start the golfers had to deal with dew on the fairways and greens. Three teams were formed with assigned captains being Scott Jalling, Jack Wendler and Todd Swatzina. The remaining team members were selected through a card draw. This week’s game format was step-aside Scramble. In this format no player can hit two consecutive shots. The competition was relatively close as the teams finished up with rounds of 36, 35 and 31. Scott Jalling’s team shooting a record tying 31 included Mary Meyer, Everett Rhyner, Colin Fritz and Louis Young, therefore winning the 1st place grand prize. Todd Swatzina’s shot on hole #2 was closest to the pin and John Goodale made the longest putt on hole #9. The Fun League is a weekly event held at Meadowview Golf Course during the spring, summer, and fall. Each week, a different version of the Scramble format is played, ensuring that everyone gets a fresh and exciting experience. To participate, arrive early by 9:30 a.m. to sign up and be assigned to a team. Tee-off is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Join us for a relaxed round of golf that promises to be both enjoyable and rewarding.
