A chill was in the air with temperatures in the low 50s, partly cloudy with a slight wind as eight dedicated golfers reported to the Meadowview Golf Course for the 21st weekly Golf Fun League. The golfers came with their clothing layered (shirt, jacket, windbreaker) to protect themselves from the chilly temperatures. The course had a few leaves blowing around but the greens and fairways were in excellent condition. The game format was the Step-Aside Scramble. In this Scramble format the best shot is selected and the player who hit that shot steps aside for the next shot. The two teams reported to the clubhouse with scores of 39 and 35. The winning team shooting the 35 consisted of John Boss, Dennis Wilson, Dennis Kieser and Richard Wachsmuth. Hole prizes were won by John Boss, closest to the pin on hole #2 and LeRoy Wellman, longest putt on hole #9. The Fun League is a weekly event held at Meadowview Golf Course during the spring, summer, and fall. Each week, a different version of the Scramble format is played, ensuring that everyone gets a fresh and exciting experience. To participate, arrive early by 9:30 a.m. to sign up and be assigned to a team. Tee-off is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Join us for a relaxed round of golf that promises to be both enjoyable and rewarding.
