The day started overcast with a partly cloudy forecast and temperature around 70. The course was wet from rain that arrived the previous evening. But 12 hearty golfers showed up with their waterproof golf shoes, to compete for the available prize winnings. Three golfers signed in and competed for the first time. Four teams, three members each were selected and scattered around the golf course to play using the Scramble format. This is a fun format for golfers of all skill levels. Even with the course being extremely wet, all teams shot relatively well. The winning team, shooting an even par 36 consisted of captain Mark Schmidt partnering with Jack Wendler and Richard Wachsmuth. Scores of each team were 36, 39, 39 and 40. The second place team was finally determined after the 5th elimination hole. Hole prizes were won by LeRoy Wellman, longest putt on hole #9 and Dennis Wilson being closest to the pin off the tee on hole #2. The Fun League is held each Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course throughout the summer. Show up early, no later than 9:30 a.m. for registration and team selection with tee-off scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Come and enjoy a low stress round of golf.
