On January 20 the JV Hawks traveled to Gilman and defeated the Pirates 43-27. The Blackhawks played tough man defense early coming up with seven first half steals. We also took care of the ball, having only three turnovers. Eight players scored with Easton Ruggles and Nolan Peterson knocking down threes. The Hawks took a 24-15 lead into halftime.
Our trapping defense came up with eight more steals in the second half. The guys did a nice job keeping pressure on the Pirates, disrupting their offense. Our rebounding was strong as we grabbed 31 boards. Nice win on the road as everyone contributed.
