On February 10 the Blackhawks traveled to Thorp and defeated the Cardinals 53-44. It was a close battle throughout as both teams matched up well with each other. The Hawks took care of the ball, having only 3 first half turnovers. Tegan Treankler was a key factor at the high post offensively against their zone defense, scoring 11 points, with a pair of threes and also passing the ball well. The Blackhawks also had 5 first half steals with their trapping defense, keeping the Cardinals off balance. The Hawks led at the halftime break 20-17.
The second half the Blackhawks made 13 of 25 shots and led 41-28 at the 6:22 mark. The Cardinals didn't go away as they would go on a 16-6 run, cutting it to 47-44 with 53 seconds. A Nick Dambeck three-pointer and scoring drive by Austin Yeager put the Hawks ahead to stay. Aschton Paczkowski also hit two big free throws late. Eight players grabbed boards with Treankler having a team high 14. Crandon Dallman also handed out 4 assists. It was a big road win for the guys!
