On January 6, the Owen-Withee Girls basketball team took a little trip over to Abbotsford for a non-conference matchup against the Falcons. The JV girls started off with the perfect amount of control and aggressiveness. Once they got into the groove, there was no way that the Falcons would be able to come back. With strong shooting and rebounding, the ladies were able to secure the win over Abbotsford.

Unlike the JV, the Varsity girls had a slow-paced start. Missed shots, turnovers, and foul trouble led to a low scoring first half. Although they were winning, the girls knew they had to pick it up. In the second half, they did exactly that. Their ball movement was sharp, and buckets were being made consistently. With a great half-court trap, they were able to steal the ball and get a fastbreak up the court. Most of the time it ended in allowing foul after foul. The Hawks not only got them to pick up fouls, but they also had a good percentage at the free throw line. All of this contributed to another big win in the books for the ladies with a score of 46-23.
