Owen-Withee High School’s One Act Play is headed to state and the community had the option to view the performance this past weekend on Saturday, November 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 10 at 2 p.m. At the performances, the community could enter to win raffle baskets. The play, Fatality written by Todd Ford, focuses on Dave, played by Sam Wells, as a high school senior that makes the wrong decision by deciding to drive drunk and high. His actions lead to not only his death, but the deaths of three others. This play is all about dealing with the negative consequences of teenage partying, drinking, recreational drugs, and peer pressure. That mistakes and bad decisions won’t always have the opportunity for second chances. The performance received an average of 2.5 points out of 3 at the District Festival at Eau Claire Regis on October 7. They then received the required 2.3 score to proceed to the State Competition at UW-Milwaukee on November 16-18. The Theatre Department would like to thank the O-W Administration, Faculty, Staff, raffle basket donors, ticket sellers, and families of the cast and crew for their support. The cast included Maribel Cruz, Mason Gay, Steven Negron Gonzalez, Cassidy Graski, Dan Graski, Aschton Paczkowski, Sully Poehler, Violet Poehler, Bobby Turner, Lydia VanArk, and Mady Vetterkind. Those on the crew were Sam Stephens and Isabella Lewellen (lights), Angela Baures and Elizabeth Cruz (Sound and Props). The performance was directed by Julie VanArk with the assistance of Angela Miller.
