October 3, the O-W varsity volleyball team traveled to Neillsville to face off against the Warriors. All the sets were back and forth with intense plays. Neillsville took the first set 25-18 but during the second set the Lady Hawks were better prepared and won 25-23. Unfortunately, in the third set the Hawks fell 25-22. Finally, after a hard-fought battle in the 4th set the Blackhawks lost 25-22.
This loss motivated the Hawks to get a win earlier this week on Tuesday in Greenwood. The ladies stumbled at the start giving the Indians hope. Knowing they had to push, the girls started to flow at the end of the first set and got the win. The second set started off with a little more fire as the girls also won the second set. The Lady Hawks looked to finish it out and go home in 3-0. They did exactly that and crushed Greenwood in straight sets and gathered their first conference win! The ladies play at home against Spencer on Thursday and look for a strong conference season finish. Make sure to come and cheer them on and celebrate Senior Night!
