On Thursday, September 19, the Owen-Withee varsity volleyball team traveled to Auburndale for a Tri where they were able to take home a few big wins. They faced off against Elcho to start the day when they won in 2 sets. Soon after they faced Auburndale which posed more of a game for them. Winning the first set to go down in the second made this game interesting. In the third set, they created a lead and ended up winning the game.
Congrats to the girls’ volleyball team on their big wins on Tuesday, September 24. The girls hit the road once again for their second conference match-up against the Gilman Pirates. Earlier this season they played them in a Triangular in Thorp where they faced a sad loss. Hoping for better this time around, the girls fought their hardest. The beginning of the match looked much like their game against Auburndale. After putting up a huge fight in the first set, they went down 26-28. However, they took the second set to tie it up 1-1. Unfortunately, they lost both the 3rd and 4th set to end the game.
