In addition, the Centennial Committee held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 24. Scott Jalling and Phil Greschner have been busy selling ads for the Centennial Book. Histories of Owen businesses are also being gathered. Mayor Jalling would like to have a picture taken of all six of the Owen mayors that are still living. Sandy Deacon knows someone willing to make a commemorative quilt for the celebration that will then be given to the O-W Area History Center for permanent display. The committee is also looking into doing a Jail and Bail fundraiser event.
The next meeting is planned for Wednesday, May 29 at Mill Pond Park.
