Owen Downtown Revitalization sets Farmers Market times for 2024

Posted

When the Owen Downtown Revitalization Committee met on Thursday, April 4, they set the dates and hours for the Farmers Market for 2024. The Farmers Market will run on Saturdays from June 1 through September 28. The hours will be 9 a.m. to noon. The train will be available for rides from 10 a.m. to noon on the days that the weather permits.
Businesses that sell produce are encouraged to set up a space at no charge. Those that have a large garden that produces too much are also encouraged to set up a space, even if they don’t come every week. Patrons are welcome to come and purchase locally grown foods. Both vendors and buyers are needed to keep the Farmers Market viable. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, you can just show up or contact Linda Barna at 715-229-4320 for more information.
There are also a couple of spots available in the Community Garden. If you are interested in planting a garden, contact Terry Plautz at 715-613-8733.
Volunteers are also needed to help Growin’ Owen with planting and weeding around the city. It is a huge job to keep the gardens looking nice all summer. If you can help, contact Cindy Cardinal at 715-503-5231 or message the committee through the Growin’ Owen-America in Bloom Facebook page.
In addition, volunteers are needed to help with the Car Show. Maybe you would be interested in serving on the committee. Contact Carey Hargot at 715-229-9992 for more information or message the committee through the Owen Downtown Revitalization Committee Facebook page.
