The Owen-Withee School Board held a special meeting on Monday, June 29. Their first order of business was to approve a budget correction removing $6,052 from Fund 73 OPEB (Other Post Employment Benefits). This was money that shouldn’t have been put in that fund which is used to pay health insurance for retired employees until they are eligible for Medicare. An adjustment to Fund 27 Special Education was on the agenda, but not needed.

The board also approved the resignation of special education teacher Matt Grant and the hiring of 4th grade teacher Paige Fleischman.

The board then went into closed session for about an hour to discuss raises for next year based on CPI (Consumer Price Index). In open, it was announced that teachers and support staff will get a 2.63% pay increase. Administration, which includes the District Administrator, principals, and Director of Pupil Services will get a 2% pay increase. For next year, District Administrator Randy Bergman is not taking the raise and new Middle/High School Principal Amy Dahms will not get the raise as she was just hired and began her position with the district on July 1.
