After qualifying for the State Powerlifting Championships in Elk Mound a little over a month ago, Owen-Withee Senior Sully Poehler and Coach Rich Englebretson took center stage in Appleton this past weekend, competing in the State Powerlifting Championships at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center. The three-day event pitted the best powerlifters from all over the state competing for the best combined total in weight in the squat, bench press, and deadlift. Sully competed on Sunday in the 242 pound class and had personal bests for himself, in the squat at 425 pounds, bench pressed 319 pounds, and finished the day with a 435 pound deadlift. Congratulations Sully and Coach Englebretson on representing our school and our community at the State Championships!
