Spring piano recital held at St. John’s, Withee

The students of Paige Piano Works presented their 2024 Spring Piano Recital on May 11 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Piano Teacher Cynthia Gutsch inspired 17 of her piano students to step up, introduce themselves and play their piano selections to pews full of family and friends.

The students and the pieces they played were as follows: Nora Gutsch -Rainbow Dough, Nest Quest; Sadie Westaby – The B-I-B-L-E, Twinkle, Twinkle Cookie Jar; August Gutsch – Shine So Bright, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious; Orion Wilczek – Jam Sesh; Natalie Turner – Stolen Veil, How Far I’ll Go; Avonlea Wirtala – Ocean Unicorn, Praise God, From Whom All Blessings Flow; Madylin Earnest – Sleeping Til Springtime, Filled with Glee; Claire Petranovich – Scarlet; Jacob Fischer – Sneezy, Wheezy Spider, Old MacDonald Had a Rock; Kyla Groleau – Don’t Blame the Dog, Wish for Fish; Lydia Earnest – Soccer Spike, Batter Up; Evelyn Wirtala – Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee, Holy Bible Book Divine; Violet Poehler – Slow and Steady, Jumping Jelly Beans; Gavin Westaby – Holy, Holy, Holy, Into the Sky; Carli Petranovich – Time’s Up, Crazy Train; Patricia Steiner – Serenade Op. 134; and Quintin Zarins – Canon in D.

Following the recital Mrs. Gutsch gave each student a flower and a small gift with words of encouragement attached and shared her appreciation and stated, “Thank you, to St. John’s Lutheran Church for the use of their building, to the students for all the hard work they have done to prepare for today and for participating in the recital and to the parents for encouraging their children to participate in the wonderful world of music.”

Following the recital all were invited to enjoy some treats and refreshments.
