Withee Days celebration kicks off Friday, continues all weekend

Coming this weekend at Withee, the annual Withee Days celebration has fun, food, and games for everyone.

From coronation of the Owen-Withee Ambassador for 2024, to food and refreshments, kids games and library events, Withee Days is sponsored by the Owen-Withee Lions Club, along with contributions from local businesses.

Kicking off Friday June 14 this year, Withee Days 2024 will have kids games and a swing ride, along with food and beer stands open for the adults. Co-ed softball starts at 7 p.m., with bingo in the Alma Holm pavilion. There will be music from Modern Throwback featuring Josh Hebert from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., sponsored by Forward Bank.

Come Saturday, June 15, festivities will continue with the Owen-Withee FFA Pancake breakfast in the Vater building and Owen-Withee Lions Kids Run starting at 8:30 a.m. The Adult 5k and 10k Run/Walk starts at 9:00 a.m.

New this year, there will be a pickleball tournament in the Withee Lions Park, also at 9:00 a.m. Limited to the first 16 players, the tournament is open to men and women, with a $5 entry fee per person, with blind draw for partners. Four games are guaranteed, with a trophy to the winning team. Contact Mark Meyer at 715-503-5700 for more.

Come 11 a.m. on Saturday, is the pickleball partners tournament, limited to the first eight teams and open to men’s, women’s, or mixed teams. Entry fee is $10 per team. Four games guaranteed, with the trophy once again going to the winning team. Contact Mark Meyer for more.

Starting an hour earlier at 10:00 a.m. and running to 1:30 p.m., there will be Withee Library Book Sales and a local author presentation.

Also new this year on Saturday, a basketball shooting contest will take place at Withee Park. Registration is at 1:00 p.m. with contest beginning at 1:15 p.m. Open to boys and girls entering grades five through eight, there is no entry fee for the contest. Also included are a free throw and hot shot contest. Medals for first through third place in each division, with more information from Mark Meyer.

Starting at 4:00 p.m. Saturday it’s time to eat and play, with food and beer stands opening, along with kids games, a swing ride, mini golf and large yard games planned. Bingo on Saturday starts at 7:00 p.m. in the Alfa Holm Pavilion, with music by Knuckle Sammy from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., sponsored by Forward Bank.

Coronation of the Owen-Withee Ambassador will take place at 9:00 p.m.

Come Sunday morning, a Worship and Praise Church Service will take place in the Alfa Holm Pavilion at 10:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the Owen-Withee-Curtiss Fire District will have a Charcoal Chicken Dinner, the Holy Rosary Parish Council Women will host a Pie and Ice Cream Social from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as well.

The parade this year is at 2:00 p.m., with music following from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. by the Cynor Classics Polka Band. Other activities following the parade include bingo, music, kid’s games, a swing ride, mini golf and large yard games, along with food and drinks, all until 6:00 p.m.

Raffle ticket winners will be announced at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
