I would like to invite everyone down to the Old School to take part in this year's Business Expo to be held this Saturday, April 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
There will be many exciting events including the Golden Blackhawk Award presented by the O-W Area Historical Society at 11:00 a.m. Following that at 11:30, Peter Kaz will give an informational talk about the new Crime Stoppers anonymous tipline for Clark County. At 12:30, don't miss Allan Hodnett with his presentation of the history of Owen. There will be giveaways throughout the day from local businesses and groups that have exhibits with signups available at their booths. Troy and Jenn's Hacienda will be serving breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The Owen Centennial Committee will be putting on a jail and bail fundraiser during the Expo featuring Clark County Sheriff Kerry Kern and some of his staff. They will be locked up and looking for donations to be "bailed out." All proceeds will go to the Owen Centennial for upcoming events for the 100th year celebrations to be held in April, July and August. Thanks to the Owen-Withee Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsors for putting on the Business Expo.
I had the privilege of being invited to the O-W History Center for the presentation ceremony of the Caroline Pietrowski collection of Owen-Withee history. Caroline is a 1960 graduate of O-W High School, which was the same year as my mother graduated, and I enjoyed the stories that Caroline shared about the two of them.
Have a good week. Until next time.
