What an exciting weekend at the O-W Area Chamber Business Expo. The Centennial Committee had a very successful day with their jail and bail fundraiser. I would like to thank all those who took time out of their day to be locked up in our jail. Thanks to all the generous people who donated to bail our inmates out.
These funds will go for what we hope to be an awesome fireworks display on July 19 following the Marshall Star's band performance.
Thanks to the Friends of the Old School for hosting the Expo. What a great turnout—over 300 visitors attended.
Congratulations to Art Petersen for receiving the Owen-Withee Area Historical Society Golden Blackhawk Award. This was a very proud moment for Art and his family.
The Centennial Committee has yard signs commemorating the 100 year celebration available for anyone who would like one for their yard or business. Contact myself or Cindy Cardinal if you're interested. We will now gear up for the kick-off event of this Centennial year on April 26 with a tree planting ceremony, cake and ice cream served by former Miss Owen's, opening the time capsule from the 75 year celebration, premiere of Tim Gelhaus' song written about the city of Owen and an open mic talent show. We would appreciate anyone who wants to participate in the open mic to contact Cindy, Phil Greschner, or myself.
Have a good week. Until next time.
