The day was cloudy and in the 70’s and the golf course was extremely wet from a dumping of rain the night before. But 12 purposeful golfers showed up, paid their $2 fee and were ready to dodge the puddles scattered around the course. Team captains Mark Schmidt, Dale Raatz, Jerry Hester and Dennis Kieser were chosen and by drawing cards, four evenly matched teams were formed. This week, individual scores were counted and compared to each members golfing average. The winning team shot 6 points below their average with all other teams also scoring well. The winning team consisted of captain Mark Schmidt and teammates John Boss and Jack Wendler. Closest to the pin awards on holes 2 and 6 went to Jack Wendler and Jerry Hester. Mark Schmidt won the longest putt contest on the 9th hole. The Fun League is held every Tuesday during the summer. If interested, show up before or by 9:45 for check in.
