The day started out hazy but the air was fresh and calm as 10 golfers showed up for the weekly Fun League at Meadowview Golf Course. Some slight smoke from Canadian fires still lingered in the air. Three captains, Scott Strzok, Jerry Hester and Jack Wendler, were selected to head up their respective teams. Remaining team members were selected by drawing cards to compete using the Scramble format. The course, as displayed all summer, was in great condition following rainfall from a few days previously. This week’s scoring was again very close with teams reporting in with 35, 36 and 36 with 36 being par. The winning team, shooting 1 under par 35 consisted of captain Jerry Hester teaming up with LeRoy Wellman and Richard Wachsmuth. Hole prizes were won by Richard Wachsmuth, longest putt on hole #9 and LeRoy Wellman being closest to the pin off the tee on hole #2. The Fun League is held each Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course throughout the summer. Show up early, no later than 9:30 a.m. for registration and team selection with tee-off scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Come and enjoy a low stress round of golf.
