This year the Owen-Withee School District will be having a book mobile making stops in Owen and Withee. July 9^th begins their summer reading program lead by OWHS teacher Nichole Hougard. This program is part of her training to become an IMC specialist. Hougard also taught a library summer school class to help fulfill her elementary school experience.

The summer reading program begins July 9^th and aims to prevent kids from falling into the “summer slide” by reading throughout the summer. Reading goals for ages 7 and under are 25 or more books and for ages 8 and up, its 900 minutes (30 minutes per weekday) or more over the summer. The book mobile will be out and about on July 9, July 23, August 6 and August 20, 11 a.m.-noon at the Owen Mill Pond Park and 1-2:20 p.m. at the Withee Lion’s Park. During these stops there will be activities and prizes will be given out for meeting summer reading milestones. Rural stops are available upon request.
