2024-2025 Flu and COVID Vaccines at the Clark County Health Department

The best way to protect against influenza and its potentially serious complications is with a flu vaccine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends routine annual influenza vaccinations for everyone age 6 months and older who do not have any contraindications. Flu vaccination is especially important for people 65 years and older because they are at higher risk for developing serious flu complications.

The Clark County Health Department (CCHD) has the following flu vaccines available (while supplies last):

Children (Age 6 Months – 18 Years)

  • Available for no-cost to children who meet Vaccines for Children (VFC) criteria.
  • Available for no-cost to all children, regardless of insurance status, if they attend a mass flu clinic location.

Adults (Age 19+) – Standard Adult Dose

  • Available to adults with a billable insurance company listed below. Otherwise, this vaccine is available for a private pay cost of $45.

Adults (Age 65+) – High Dose

  • Available to adults with a billable insurance company listed below. Otherwise, this vaccine is available for a private pay cost of $93.

In addition, the CCHD has COVID vaccines available. The CDC recommends an updated COVID vaccine for everyone age 6 months and older who do not have any contraindications. The vaccine is still amongst the best tools available to reduce the severity of COVID infections, and keeping people out of the hospital. It may be best to wait to receive a vaccine if you have had a recent COVID infection in the last three months (as your immunity already is very high) to help extend immunity through the winter. Flu and COVID vaccines can be administered at the same time.

The CCHD has the following COVID vaccines available (while supplies last):

Children (Age 6 Months – 11 Years)

  • Available for no-cost to children who meet VFC criteria.

Children (Age 12 Years – 18 Years)

  • Available at no-cost to children who meet VFC criteria.
  • Available to children with a billable insurance company listed below. Otherwise, this vaccine is available for a private pay cost (cost to be determined).

Adults (Age 19+)

  • Available to adults with a billable insurance company listed below. Otherwise, this vaccine is available for a private pay cost (cost to be determined).

The CCHD is able to bill the following insurance carriers: Aspirus Health Plan, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Benefit Plan Administrator (BPA), Medicaid/BadgerCare+, Medicare, Security Health Plan, Security Administrative Services, or UMR. You must present your insurance card(s).

Again this year, the CCHD has partnered with Indianhead Community Action Agency to offer gift card incentives for individuals age 55+ and/or people with disabilities, for those who receive their flu and/or COVID-19 shot ($25 per vaccine).

Appointments for all vaccines are strongly recommended, but walk-ins are accepted at our scheduled vaccination clinics. You can find a full schedule of clinic locations, dates, and times, and the link below.
