Golf Fun League

Week 7

The golf course was still wet with a previous nights rainfall leaving the fairways soggy with standing water. But the sun shining brightly and temperatures in the high 70s was enough to have 10 committed golfers show up to compete. Team captains were chosen and by drawing cards, three teams were formed. Each team used a scramble format with teams hitting from the tee, choosing the best shot and each hitting from that location. Competition was extremely competitive again with team scores of 37, 37 and 39. A tiebreaker on hole 5, the third tiebreaker hole determined the first place team. The winning team consisted of captain Dennis Wilson with teammates Carol Raatz and new participant Chris Carpenter.  No one entered their name for the longest putts but Dennis Kieser hit his tee shot on the 2nd hole to within six feet of the pin to win the Closest to the Pin contest. His team sunk the Birdie putt. The Fun League is held every Tuesday during the summer. If interested, show up before or by 9:45 for check in.
