Superb weather with skies clear, winds calm and temperatures pushing 80 saw 11 hearty golfers show up at the Meadowview Golf Course. After fees were paid, three teams were formed with captains Daren Underdahl, Mark Schmidt and LeRoy Wellman leading the way. The best ball format was selected where the best shot is used as the teams play each hole. The unique feature introduced this week involved the regular cups on the green being replaced with “Big Cups.” Big Cups (about 8” in diameter) are much larger than standard cups so lower scores were expected. This was the case with all teams shooting exceedingly well. The second place team scored 28, 8 under par, but that couldn’t beat the first place team score which shot 27, 9 under par. The winning team consisted of captain Daren Underdahl and teammates Dennis Wilson, Rick Raatz and Carol Raatz. Longest putt awards on holes 4 and 9 went to Dennis Kieser and Mark Schmidt.
