Steeple Gallery opens in Dorchester

On Tuesday, September 10 at 3:30 p.m., the Steeple Gallery held their Grand Opening at Dorchester. The gallery is owned by Barry and Cheryl Plautz who moved into the area 13 years ago. For many years they looked for a space to display their art, and when they couldn’t find any, they decided to make their own. Two years ago, the Peace Church was put on the market and the couple knew that it was the perfect place for their dream as soon as they saw it. The Steeple Gallery displays local and regional artists work as well as offering workshops and classes. They are also the host to a growing group of community artists known as ARTC or “Art Reaches the Community”. Their dream is that the Steeple Galley will encourage all kinds of artists to find a home in Northern Clark County and maybe motivate other business to open up in the area. The Steeple Gallery welcomes everyone to stop by when they are open on Saturdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or by appointment. You can reach them by email at steeplegallery@outlook.com or call/text 715-600-3590.

Shelia Nyberg, the executive director of the Clark County Economic Development Corporation and Tourism Bureau (CCEDC), made the introduction and opening remarks alongside Peter Kaz, representing the CCEDC board. Others that were present and made remarks were other members of the CCEDC and the Dorchester area before the new owners were introduced. Barry and Cheryl shared their story and vision for the future. The CCEDC gifted the couple two hibiscus plants before concluding with the ribbon cutting.
