One person is dead after the bicycle they were on was involved in a crash on CTH N by Dickerson Ave, in the Township of Worden.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call of the crash at about 8:46 a.m., on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Initial investigation indicates a semi-tractor trailer being operated by Richard J. Wnek, 63 years old, was east bound on CTH N when it struck a bicycle that was also east bound. Andrew J. Niedzwicki, 65 years old, was on the bicycle near the south shoulder of the roadway when the passing semi-tractor and trailer struck him, throwing him from the bicycle into the south shoulder of the roadway. Richard pulled over the semi after striking Andrew and called 9-1-1 reporting the crash.

Andrew was transported by the Thorp Area Ambulance Service to the Stanley Hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. Richard was unharmed in the crash.

The Thorp Area Fire and Ambulance Service responded to the incident with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Clark County Highway Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and Clark County Coroner Clarissa Rochester.

The Investigation is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
